SoukaBot

I'm back working on the 3D printer because it's winter again.  I made some more changes with the extruder because that is giving the most trouble.  I've printed stuff out but not quite at the quality I want it to be.  This is what i have so far and I'm very close to finishing this thing.  Also I made the entire thing out of aluminum for durability.

I hate acrylic

Gluing together laser cut acrylic sucks.  I'm sure there's better ways of doing it than super gluing it, remind me to look that up.  I've broken pieces and  glued my fingers to each other on countless occasions.

This is what I got so far in about 2 hours worth of work.  Pretty good, but there's still some areas I would like to do a redesign.

Redesign 3D Printer

I learned a lot from my 3D printer prototype, so I'm going to build a more reliable one and going alot simpler with the electronics.  I'm going to use almost all my old 3D printer parts so it isn't going to cost a ton.  I'm trying to put together a parts list and make it a kit, for under 400 dollars.

Testing. Testing.

They see me rollin'

This is a clip of my first test drive on my dune buggy.  I ended up having my chain fall off .  The buggy was actually stuck in the ditch for an hour before a neighbor came over to help us push it out.

Air System + Sheild

So for this pneumatic shifter, I have an air cylinder pushing the clutch lever arm up and another air cylinder pushing or pulling it into gear.  I have all the actuation controlled through pneumatic valves hooked up to a timer.  The whole action is triggered by my paddle shifter.

Spring update

How it sits right now as of May 14

Added the tail lights and the fan.  Nothing special.

Added a 2:1 quick steer so I only have to turn 90 degrees to fully steer the Dune Buggy.

Putting up the dash

Got myself a new welder (190amp Hobart).  For now I'm just using .030 flux core wire.

Updates on Parts

Brake pedal. Cheap and Easy.
Made some tie roads, not too exciting.
Note: The tie rod ends are 10mm x 1.25.

Yes!

Put on some paint, and started on building a dash, and started to look at the wiring.  Starting to get an idea how the steering is going in and I can't wait 'till the parts get in so I can really finish this baby.  PLEASE WORK, PLEASE WORK!
